Full course description
Students can learn about applying for the 2026 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) for undergraduate and graduate students interested in studying a critical language abroad. CLS funds intensive summer language programs abroad for 12 different critical languages. An off-shoot program, CLS Spark offers virtual summer language programs for students with no previous language experience in five different critical languages. Both programs are designed to promote rapid language gains and essential intercultural fluency in regions that are critical to U.S. national security and economic prosperity.
